The 2 suspects arrested in the Tulsa Oklahoma shooting

death of 3 African Americans and wounding of 2 were heavily into Christianity and the after life. I read on one of the suspects Facebook pages that they read the Bible every night with each other, which I think is very weird in itself. Evidently, Jake England the younger suspect thought an African American guy had murdered his father and that thought just drove him crazy. I read his Facebook page before they took it down where he used the "N" word and otherwise seemed unhinged.

Alvin Watts the older suspect posted.

The page was removed at the exact time I was posting this so I cant get any more quotes but assuming they did do this, I wonder why so many of these deranged people that go around killing people are wrapped up in Christianity? They are, or else they were raised in a very Christian household a majority of the time. Matter of fact, I told a friend that arrests were made in the case and he instantly said "bet they're Christians" so I went to look and found their FB pages etc.. I guess the argument would be that Christians are no different than anyone else and they can kill people, be racist, molest children or whatever, but that isn't how they sell it. They say that society would be better off if everyone was Christian and that morals flow from faith etc and so on. But Christianity offers nothing any better than anything else.

the ones in real big mental trouble turn to Christianity for help believing what they've been told about it's solutions to all problems.

afford actual psychiatric care for their documented depression.

Unfortunately, up until the 20th century this was about all that was available anywhere to people with mental health issues. Well into the 21st century, many people still believe mental illness is only a matter of morality and character, not a biological process affecting thought patterns. Sadly, this is probably the case with spree killers like this, who think their actions are somehow reasonable, since they are able to read a Bible and interpret the many contradictory passages therein to whatever aims and goals their troubled minds may choose.

after his father was killed. He probably tried to find peace through reading the bible.

one wants to justify any actions. The Old Testament still is included in all copies of the Bible, as far as I know, for what reason, I'm not sure I have any idea as to why.

Jake England's personal history seems to involve violent folk and guns:

On April 5, 2010, Carl England, 47, showed up at the apartment complex where his daughter lived with her boyfriend. The boyfriend had gotten into a fight <with> Pernell Jefferson, 40, and had hit him with a baseball bat, the Tulsa World reported at the time. Jefferson, who had been in prison on drug and weapons charges, then tried to break into the couple's apartment but left, saying he planned to 'settle the dispute.' England and his daughter's boyfriend went looking for Jefferson at the apartment complex. When the found him, England hit him with a stick and knocked him to the ground. Jefferson pulled out a gun and shot England in the chest, the World reported, killing him.

http://www.startribune.com/nation/146641095.html

He's walking the walk, where a lot of churchmen and women only talk the talk. His congregation, All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, is the largest UU congregation in the world, and is known for its risk-taking. A few years ago, the basically all-white congregation welcomed a struggling (mostly African American) Pentacostal-Universalist congregation to join them, and now is one of the most racially mixed congregations in the city. Just yesterday they showed their risk-taking nature again by holding its first "Easter Service for Non-believers," which was very successful and drew a large gathering. In other words, when people allow their religions to evolve, the sky is the limit to what is possible.
