Remains of young children and babies found in sewage chambers at Tuam mother and baby home

http://www.thejournal.ie/human-remains-found-baby-home-tuam-3268465-Mar2017/

THE COMMISSION OF INVESTIGATION into Mother and Baby Homes has discovered a significant number of human remains in what appears to be a decommissioned sewage chamber in Tuam.

The Commission has completed two test excavations of the Galway site and today confirmed that “significant quantities of human remains have been discovered” in a structure which appears to be “related to the treatment/containment of sewerage and/or wastewater”.

...

There were remains found in at least 17 of the 20 chambers. A small number of the remains were recovered for testing. A scientific analysis has put the ages of the deceased at between 35 foetal weeks to two to three years old.

Radiocarbon dating suggests that they are from the time the Bon Secours home was in operation between 1925 and 1961. A number of the samples are likely to be from the 1950s.

Yeah, this place was in the news a while ago when this discovery was still in the early stages. It's as bad as was feared that time.

no religious or social coercion there at all. All willingly. And of course because killing infants and children isn't cardinal law, this wasn't part of catholic doctrine so therefore, the people who did it weren't real catholics, probably mentally ill, who are you to say different, why do you hate catholics, etc etc

1) an atheist probably really had something to do with this
2) this orphanage was not sanctioned by the Catholic Church
3) Okay so it was sanctioned by the Catholic Church but you have to DIG UP (heh heh get it...dig up) old news to make a point? Sigh. anti-catholic Bigotry, etc. etc.
4) spend 45 minutes looking online for one less-than-stellar example of reporting by this news paper and use that to discredit this article

This is but another ghoulish example of the dark side of patriarchy and authoritarian religions. It is the antithesis of Christianity.

Because they were illegitimate.
Sickening and heartbreaking.
So much better to murder the "old fashion" way
Than safe legal abortion.

The older ones died of disease and neglect, not active murder.

Males, of course, went on their merry way, completely unconcerned with the devastation they'd caused.

And now the Milo guys screech that feminists who point this stuff out as a reason to abandon patriarchy are all man haters.

Uh, no, Milo. We're just done having to clean up your messes.

Bastards weren't looked upon too kindly, because of course only marriage to a man granted a woman or her children legitimacy in society.

If one FORCES a woman and/or a child to live in substandard conditions and does not give proper food, housing, or medical treatment and that lack of proper food, housing, or medical treatment leads to stillbirth or early death of a child, isn't that murder? In the case of the infant/child/other vulnerable population (mentally ill, physically and/or cognitively disabled) it certainly meets the standards of neglect. If death occurs b/c of that neglect, it's it's typically considered murdered, manslaughter at the least.

So did they shoot them in the head? Probably not -- but that is not the only way a person can be murdered. And by that definition, these stillbirths and deaths of infants, children, and women were certainly caused by the sub-human treatment they received (against their will) at the hands of the Catholic Church.

Fucking sickening.
