(9,116 posts)Your canvas is only so big and tattoos can only be scaled down so much before they lose their detail. The artist probably placed a few guys on the other side of the table to make sure all the apostles could be represented there while keeping them large enough to be distinguishable.
But other than that, he was totally cribbing on Da Vinci.
