Despite being pro-life, I support buffer zones around abortion clinics

From the article:

But a woman exercising her legal right to an abortion should not have to run a gauntlet of screaming opponents characterizing her choice and the difficult procedure she is about to undergo in the most horrifying terms. We protect free speech so that ideas can be articulated and considered fairly, and there isn’t a lot of sober deliberation going on amid the shouting of epithets outside a clinic

(The bold portion is my addition)

1. and how far does that "pro-life" stance go? are you anti-war, anti-death penalty, pro-gun

control?

because I notice that many "pro-lifers" are none of the above.

My wife and I are anti-war, anti- death penalty, pro-food stamps and social welfare programs, pro living wage jobs, pro a secure retirement income for all.

Speaking as a man, abortion is not a procedure I could have, but my wife said it was not a choice she would make.

So does that make us pro-life?

on the reich do it.

I think I will start a new term--pro-humanity for the values you listed, and others.

6. I stand with the woman, and her freedom to make the choice.

Even absent the factor of imminent death, my position is the same. It is her choice, and if she wishes to involve others in making that choice, that too is her choice.

9. I am happy to see you no longer adding your "I personally oppose abortion but..." qualifier.

Perhaps you listened to and learned from others the last time this topic came up. That's a wonderful thing.

12. The only reason the protestors are allowed is because they are white

Primarily. Race plays a greater role than religion here.

I like the clinic that has a sprinkler system on remote that has 360° coverage of the sidewalk and lawn.

13. The sprinkler system is designed to encourage growth.

So if these protesters were non-white and aggressive the police might view them differently?

14. Yea, the police would view them very differently.

Apparently their lawn dries out fast so they have to spot water constantly.

15. I have seen videos of police responses to black people carrying guns.

Generally, the police seem to respond more forcefully, and with less concern for the Second Amendment than shown when the gun carriers are white.
