An investigation by the Diocese of Des Moines "pointed to serious irregularities in the school administration under her direction," spokeswoman Anne Marie Cox said in a statement.
..."There's a culture of fear and intimidation within the dioceses," (Konchar) said. "As principals, we're afraid to speak out and to cross anyone and that's just not right."
...In a message also forwarded to the Register, (Rev. Joseph) Pins said that Konchar and he had "philosophical differences of opinion regarding the church and school."

"I think he feels very threatened by the relationship that I have with the community and with the students and with parents," said Konchar. "And, I think he doesn't like that I'm not afraid to speak up when something is wrong and it's a good way to silence me."

(49,533 posts)3. I'm guessing more will come out - the story is pretty new.
But given what we've seen in similar situations, I would guess the principal was trying to be more inclusive and accepting than the church's dogma will allow.

Internal conflicts. Woman administrator. Male Priests. Problem solved by firing the woman.
