Related: About this forumGood news: John Pavlovitz, digital pastor of the resistance, pitches a bigger Christian tent
From the article:
Its a feeling many of his readers and followers liberal Christians, disaffected Christians and ex-Christians share. Since the election of Donald Trump, he has given many of them a voice on his Stuff That Needs To Be Said blog, netting some 23 million clicks in 2017.

I jump in to say 'allo!
Tho' today it has only been two months and a year into imposter's pResidency, it seems like an eternity as others have expressed.
Trying to keep from wavering, but it ain't easy.
How it will end, I have no inkling.
You be well.
Je t'adore.
Bonne soirée.

(16,104 posts)Very interesting - and stimulating - OP.
Stuff That Needs To Be Said is a remarkably clear voice, first thing I see is "The Irreconcilable Differences of This Presidency." Brilliant!
From the OP: "Spiritually nauseated." "I was never fully authentic."
I sense another 'Argument' is on the way!

(42,641 posts)Now our church group is working with a number of Muslim organizations to fight an outbreak of Trumpism in our area.
And yes, the same small crowd will undoubtedly find something to criticize. The good is always the enemy of the perfect for some.

(49,533 posts)Anyway, your hero John Pavlovitz here doesn't really respect nonbelief. He thinks the only reason people reject religion is because of bad people 'misusing' religion, and if only everybody could get back to the 'true' message of Jesus, the non-believers would come around.
https://johnpavlovitz.com/2017/06/04/the-christians-making-atheists/
What Pavlovitz doesn't realize is 1) Plenty of non-believers arrived at their position of non-belief for reasons other than simply because some believers are assholes, and 2) there are plenty of otherwise tolerant and liberal believers who ALSO act like bigoted assholes and who refuse to even consider the existence of religious privilege.
