Purely Anecdotal

I'm sitting on the bench in front of the library when a group of Catholic grade-schoolers come filing out. They are well behaved and orderly.

I think back a few days when I saw a group of public school kids lining up to cross the street. They are boisterous and just milling about. They are laughing and being a handful for their teachers.

I am reminded of that line from Billy Joel, I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

As for those Catholic kids, they passed me by rather closely as the sidewalk was not wide. No words were spoken but I noticed one kid was locked on to me. He even turned his body to look at me as he passed.

I gave him a slight nod. He probably didn't get my message but I was telling him I wore his 👟
