Just a note, garbage like Rump cant rise to power without religion.

Just sayin.

Without the absurdly stupid religious borderline morons who are KREEEEEEEEESSCHINS (not all, many, maybe most, not all) you cant have someone like this rise to power.

How many atheists are racists? Misogynists? Bigots?

I am gonna safely say under 10%, how many religious people are these things, WAY higher WAY.

1. you bring up an intersting question for me

is this true because of the type of people who are more likely to become atheists or religious?
Or does being atheist or religion lead to being more or less bigoted?

2. Religion by definition encourages or requires bigotry.

If no other form than religious bigotry.

Which religions say any and all gods are cool with them, I am asking, I dont know, ANY?

7. Why not gravitate to a philosophy that reinforces your bigotries?

That way they can claim itís not really about hate and feel better about themselves by letting their imaginary friend do all the heavy lifting.

9. The thing that makes religion unique is its tendency to prep the mind...

to accept ideas without evidence, and worse - DESPITE evidence. Many religions view this as a very positive thing: FAITH.

10. Pretty much. "If you'll believe this, you'll believe anything!"

3. They are blinded by their desire to stop women from getting abortions.

Nothing else seems to matter. Not the lying, the corruption, the greed, or any of the "sins" they get all self-righteous about. Just abortion. Weird considering this:

Biblical Abortion: A Christianís View

The devil has done his job well with modern Christians.

4. And it is NOT about fetus or baby for 90% of them

I mean there are a handful who believe it is murder, would care for the baby once born if necessary, etc. less than 10%

The other 90% insist on being able to PUNISH women, any and all women, who have sex without their permission. Men like mcconnell or whoever who become INCENSED at the very idea that a woman would have final say over her own body.

6. That's why I call them forced birthers

Itís all about making women suffer for fornication as a means of control. Thatís why they are also against birth control.

8. I think it's more about control than punishment.

Punishment comes if you resist being controlled.

11. sure he can

he appeals to:

racists
misogynists
the wealthy and the fools who think they identify with the wealthy because they will be rich one day
those who have or crave or respect power
anti-abortion folks

I don't know how many atheists are any of those things. It's a pretty small sample size. I guarantee you if the entire population became atheists overnight, racism, misogyny and bigotry would not remotely disappear. Humans categorize. Us v Them. In v. Out. We are biologically set up to do that.

12. Oh no, not at all. VAST majority of atheists by definition would not be radically

racist or bigoted the way religious people are.

Common sense.

Some, of course, but not most...RELIGION is the BASIS for most of racism and bigotry. WITHOUT it you have an entirely different platform from which people function from

13. lol

"by definition?"

The only thing that changes about racism and bigotry without religion, is the justifications used for racism and bigotry.

Your shit stinks just like agnostics shit stinks just like theists shit stinks.
that it might be in different colors or various aromas notwithstanding.

14. Sorry but you are just wrong. THE CHARACTER traits of someone

who does not buy into religious nonsense is different from the type of person who does and worse, the type of person who does and goes out of their way to USE that religion to punish people

There are many decent xtians, for example who dont deserve this characterization but the majority deserve it.

15. I got it

your shit smells like roses, theirs like caca.

You're just a better person morally and ethically then they are.
They are bad people who are racists and bigots, and you are just a good, decent person.
You're smart, they are dumb. But they can't help it, they just haven't seen the light like you have.

I mean that's not channeling the worst of the religious right at all.

who could chose the President
