So Are Christian Democrats Praying For Trump?

Do they think their prayers will work to turn him around? Do they believe that their deity is watching over this nation and will step in before everything blows up?

I wonder about things like that. Anyone here have any thoughts about praying for Trump to do the right thing?

1. There is a post already on this topic.

But if you wish to start another, that is your right.

My guess is that majority of the responses to this post will attack theists. Just a guess.

Link?

ETA: I have searched the posts on the current Religion Group thread list, and see no posts regarding praying for Trump. Does such a post exist? You claim it does.

In any case, I will post whatever I wish here that has to do with religion.

ETA again: I have done a DU search for posts that include "Pray" and "Trump" and find nothing after 2018. So, guillaumeb, if you know of such a post, please link to it for me so I can read it. Thanks a bunch!

Where is that post you mentioned? You claimed something as a means of suggesting that I shouldn't have posted about it. Show it to me. Show me the post to which you refer.

And Coons speaks of praying with Trump and his GOP colleagues.

But again, you are free to start another thread on essentially the same topic.

7. That post is not about praying for Trump, guillaumeb.

Not at all. It's about a Democratic leglislator communing with Republicans.

Just as I thought. You were trying to get me to shut up by accusing me of posting a second thread on the same topic. I did not. I asked whether Christian Democrats prayed for Trump. Praying with Trump or other Republicans at some prayer breakfast is not the same thing at all, and you know it.

Please stop doing that. Thanks.

9. If you had read the entire article that I linked to, you might have seen this:

For his part, Coons argued these sorts of faith-fueled gatherings are about finding common ground amid controversy, something he says he experienced firsthand with Trump at the 2017 National Prayer Breakfast. Just four days earlier, the president had signed his controversial “travel ban” executive order. By contrast, Coons had worked with several faith groups — among them his home church — to welcome a Syrian refugee family in his state, only to have their arrival paused by the ban.

Coons is a Christian, and a Democrat.

Please stop doing that.

10. Nothing about praying for Trump there, either.

See, my OP asked a specific question. You are confused, somehow. My OP is about Democratic Christians in general, praying for Trump. Do they do that? That was my question. You are attempting to divert from my question. You quoted another paragraph from your link, but it says nothing about praying for Trump at all, either.

I'm sure Coons considers himself to be a Christian and a Democrat. I did not ask about that in any way. I did not even mention Coons, nor was I thinking about him. Does he pray for Trump? That question is not answered about him in your article, and certainly not about other Democrats. I asked a specific question, and you responded with irrelevancies.

I assure you that I will NOT stop asking questions in the Religion Group.

I said,

How you get from that statement to your claim that I do not want anyone to answer confuses me.

And, like you, nobody has answered my simple question. Do you pray for Trump, guillameb?

Will you attempt another diversion from the only question I asked in this thread? Or will you answer the question? It's not a complicated question in any way.

Christian Democrats praying for Trump? I don't see anything about that in Guy's post or in the article he linked to. I think he's trying to divert from my question. I did see the support for cooperation with Trump, though, in the article, especially by Coons. I found that passing strange, really.

"And Coons speaks of praying with Trump and his GOP colleagues."

Which is somehow a good thing. Because gods.

4. Well, you'll have to let a lot of people know about that.

They're doing it all the time.

"We'd just ask you, Lord, to watch over our President and help him succeed."

That has been said in thousands of churches more than once.
