If we're going to talk some about religion today, and we will, seriously, in a moment, we have to talk about the impromptu congressional baptismal skinny-dip in the Sea Of Galilee, with which some of our Good Christian Lawmakers decided to liven up a recent trip to the Holy Land. Everyone's all shocked and chagrined now that it's been revealed that Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Where The Fck Else? -Kansas) got nekkid and dove into the water upon which Jesus once walked.
"A year ago, my wife, Brooke, and I joined colleagues for dinner at the Sea of Galilee in Israel. After dinner I followed some Members of Congress in a spontaneous and very brief dive into the sea and regrettably I jumped into the water without a swimsuit," Yoder said in a statement to POLITICO. "It is my greatest honor to represent the people of Kansas in Congress and [for] any embarrassment I have caused for my colleagues and constituents, I apologize."
Meanwhile, other members of the travelling party -- and we do mean party. Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!! -- mentioned the religious significance of getting sockless and jumping into the Bible pool while also relying upon what those of us in Massachusetts refer to as the Wollaston Boulevard defense.
Many of the lawmakers who ventured into the lake said they did so because of the religious significance of the waters. Others said they were simply cooling off after a long day. Several privately admitted that alcohol may have played a role in why some of those present decided to jump in.

Had this guy been some non-religious, or non-religious-agenda-supporting lawmaker, he would have been hung out to dry.
But the moment he invokes the "I was doing it because of my faith" nonsense, he gets a pass.
THIS is the problem. We are unable to address a persons behavior whenever they say "it was my faith," mostly because the liberal/progressive believers do the exact same thing, empowering the right to continue this pattern.
How do we fight this?

A perfect opportunity for us to find that common ground you like to talk about in a rational and adult manner, and you have nothing to say?
