Why we need God from an atheist's viewpoint

It seems that Christianity has been getting a lot of bad press lately.

The Singapore High Court is due to hear two cases contesting Section 377A of the Penal Code – which criminalises sex between men – and a couple of churches around Singapore have been lobbying to keep the law intact.

It sparked online debate and the situation wasn’t made easy with the use of contentious phrases from the lobbyists such as “mobilising… for this battle”, “looming threat” and “homosexual agenda”.

Add to that other scandals such as the alleged misuse of church funds by City Harvest Church, and a recent court case of a pastor having sex with a minor, it is hard to see Christianity as anything but good.

I wonder if his wife or megachurch friend would still be cool people if they didn't believe.

She said that she would rather do good deeds because she knew it was the right thing to do and not because she would be *rewarded* by a god for doing it.

I absolutely agree with that statement, but if belief in a god helps people do good things or things they might not otherwise do, that works for me as well.

That seems to be his point and, in the end, he defines himself as agnostic.

It's easy if you try.

I think the author is just a wee bit grammar challenged here.
