Do Christians, Muslims and Jews worship the same God?

(CNN) – Sunni and Shia Muslims are killing each other in several nations, most notably in Syria's escalating civil war.

Coptic Christians churches are being torched in Egypt.

In Israel, what passes for peace talks has restarted after years of murder and brutality.

Religion is a common thread in each conflict. But why? Don’t these folks worship the same deity?

then by default they are all worshiping the same God. And since we aren't suppose to bother with the difference that they claim is the essential truth to God, we should just ignore the conflicting differences.
And their being only one God according to these religions, obviously God does not care that his most fervent followers kill each other over their belief in him and doesn't feel the need to stop it.

Now you might get some answers of the "blind men and the camel" category, but that doesn't speak to God's roll in all this.

There is, as explained by the authors, the Authoritative God, the Benevolent God, the Critical God, and the Distant God.

Monotheism is monotheism. If there is one God. It is the same. The variance is human understanding and description of the same one God.

What's going on in the Middle East is geopolitics and economic struggles. For centuries, with the same religions as now, there was relative peace. Then oil was discovered and the craggy gaze of capital slowly turned.

The argument seems hollow and solves nothing, imo.

If there is a god or gods, maybe he/she/it presents itself differently to different people or populations. Perhaps he/she/it never presents itself to some people at all.

No one will ever know, and the argument about whether the major faiths worship the same god or not seems purely academic.

Presumes that no supernatural entity will ever clearly reveal itself to humanity in the future, and presumes humanity will never be able to rule out the supernatural at all.

So no they don't worship the same God because there's no such things as Gods, but they would if there were.

Somewhere in the gospel of John, and maybe more than once, Jesus said it was his way or no way. Those are the words that the "true" (i.e., fundamentalist) Christians hang onto.

But that never stopped them from killing each other over who worships the correct way. Even within each of the three there are divisions and then divisions within those divisions.
