Iowa Youth Pastor Rapes Boys To ‘Cure’ Them Of Homosexuality, Won’t Spend One Day In Prison

By now, we’ve all undoubtedly heard of and been outraged by a Montana judge sentencing a former teacher to a mere 30 days in prison for raping one of his female students. But have you heard of the Iowa youth pastor who is walking free after confessing to raping boys to “cure” them of homosexuality?

Well, that’s precisely what happened in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist.

According to KRMG in Oklahoma, Girouex confessed to police that he had sex with at least four youths, but eight more have since come forward claiming that they were also violated by the now former pastor of Victory Fellowship Church.

Girouex told detectives that his actions were meant to “help with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with [them]” in order to keep them “sexually pure” for God. He then allegedly told police that “when they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind.”

This is why any statements that minimize pedophilia and sexual abuse of children should b countered with outrage. In a culture that would allow this to go virtually unpunished, no one should minimize the bright line that prohibits adults from being sexual in any way with children.

by what they believed their benevolent religion dictated about homosexuality, or by public statements minimizing pedophilia?

And do remember to support your answer with facts.

Do you really have such visceral hatred for Dawkins that you would do exactly what you accuse him of doing, just to get in another shot? Minimizing the real problem here, which is religiously based homophobia?

And not the result of a religion that for centuries has condemned homosexuality, causing untold millions of people to deny themselves their basic sexuality and cause others to persecute them.

there are times when I am ashamed to say I am from the US. How is this behavior any different than the barbaric practices of other nations that we claim to abhor?

Disgusting...

ever went to jail? There may have been a couple, but I don't remember it.
It is like the aura of being "a man of god" somehow keeps them out of jail, no matter how many, no matter how awful.

Click on a diocese and you'll see the dispositions.

Mind you, this is only Catholic clergy. It doesn't list other religions.

The other alternative is your state's Megan Law registry. They don't list by religion but you'll find a list of all registered offenders, believers or nonbelievers.
