Prayers needed
I always feel like I come in here when I need a favor or support, but I don't feel comfortable posting a request like this to the general boards, and I know you all will understand.
We just found out that a family friend (21 yo) and daughter's classmate and orchestra mate since middle school was killed this morning in a horrendous car accident. Both boys were pronounced dead at the scene, the man they hit is in critical condition. Enoch wasn't driving, his friend was, and lost control at a high rate of speed on a curve. It's happened before. Two sisters were killed in the same place last year when returning home from work. The car Enoch was in hit a large SUV head-on and flipped end for end, landing on their roof. I'm asking, if you have a chance, to send prayers to the two boys' families, and prayers and healing light to Mr. DeSantis and his family. Thankfully Mr. DeSantis was in a large vehicle or he surely would have been killed as well.
I went with my husband to the barber today and the clients were discussing the accident. I didn't realize at the time that our family new one of victims. They were talking about how everyone who lives in that area calls it "death road" because of the sheer number of fatalities and accidents along that stretch. Noted in the report is that every single one was wearing their seat belt. I guess this is one of the times where my dad would tell me they may have had a chance if they were thrown clear. My dad attended many accidents there over his years working ambulance and fire response.
I told my daughter she could talk to me if she needed to, or a counselor at school. They're making counselors available to students who need them.
