Premonition, Clairvoyant, Psychic?

I started a thread in the Lounge (Same title) looking for any info from folks on where a good forum was that I could discuss these types of happenings. One user pointed me to this area of DU, so I guess I'll start with some happenings that to me are unexplained (There are several).

1st off, I will say that I am 45 years old, male, and as about as sane as a person could be. I am likewise a "realist". I have an engineering degree and as mentioned in the thread in the lounge that I have a military background in tactical nuclear weapons (extensive background checks were done on me, psychological evaluations, etc)....to me, you have to be a fairly sane person in order for the government to trust 5 of us as a team to potentially control a tactical nuclear weapon.

There is a history in my family of being clairvoyant....these can be documented and one event (not with me) could be classified as a "miracle" of which my grandmother I think gave her life. If I get some involvement here, I can go into those details about all, but for now, I will only discuss what things have happened to me. With this said, I am seeking some type of input, answers, or understanding and if one can point me to a good forum out there in the internet world that discusses these type of things then I would appreciate it.

Event #1

I am wanting to say it was 10+ years ago. I had never had any premonitions before, so this one hit me like a sledge hammer - twice.

My wife and I were expecting company (college buddy and his future wife) for the weekend from out of town. I knew it would be a weekend of drinking wine, maybe going out on the town and us "catching up" and having a good time, I had not seen him in 5 years or so. I decided that our grass needed mowed (2 acres) so I grabbed a cigar and went out to mow the grass before our copmany arrived later in the day. It was a nice day, bluebird skies, temps in the 80's. I was riding along and I became exceptionally chilled with goosebumps and the feeling of "death" came over me. It was so strong that I almost got off the mower to walk to the house and check on my wife and young daughter, but I passed it off.

I guess it was around 15 mins later when it hit me again, this time there was no doubt about it, it hit me, my ears started ringing and I kind of zoned out. The feeling was so strong and the only way I could interpret it was that either my wife, myself, or one of my two guest coming into town had a death association...it was a smack in my face and for this to happen two times in roughly 15 mins was an obvious sign. This prompted me to get off the mower and go and check on my wife and daughter. I also told my wife about it and suggested that we "stay at home" this weekend and chill out since my feelings were so strong. She agreed, so I went back out and finished cutting grass before our company arrived. I told her that I could not tell who was going to die among the 4 of us but it is a "death" feeling and it is associated the 4 of us....I was scared.

We pretty much chilled out around our house for the weekend and it was uneventful....until Sunday morning. On Sunday morning with cups of coffee in our hands and chatting, my friends cell phone rang. After a few words were passed on the phone he got up and walked outside (I could tell it was important and he was seeking privacy). About 5 mins passed and he came back into the house. I asked "Is everything OK" and he said that "He'd talk about it in a bit, but that they had to get ready to leave". His girlfriend (future wife) left the room to go pack some of their stuff up and then he told me - The person on the phone was his mother calling him to let him know that his girlfriend's (our guest with him) X-husband (divorced for 30 days) had taken his life the night before (Saturday night) by stepping in front of a train. My wife's jaw hit the floor and likewise did mine. I knew something like this was going to happen, my worse case scenario was it was one of the 4 of us, I knew it was death associated with one of us but never expected it to be her X-husband taking his life at the age of 30-34. This was my 1st premonition and it really stuck out...it was so obvious and convincing to me when it happened on the mower out cutting grass. It was as if someone was telling me that death in some form is coming and that one of the 4 of us was either going to die or be affected by it.

Again, this was my first experience like this, but certainly not my last. Over the past 4-5 months I've had a few unexplained events happen and will explain them if any folks want to chat about these type of events or try and understand them. TO tell you the truth, after the past 5-6 months of events and happenings I have decided that I am on a mission to try and figure this stuff out.....I am seeking any and all information that is available as things are coming on fairly strong and it does have me concerned.

to DU and this little corner.

I have had only one experience in my life like that - when I was a teen - but I remember it clearly to this day, some forty years later.

I hope others will join in.

I have had many of them as well. However, I am sick at the moment, and can't concentrate. I was sick with some sort of lingering flu for a few days before my son-in-law died, and now I am sicker. I have travelled halfway across the country, suffered with my little girl and the rest of the family, and now I am even sicker.

I hope this lingering sore throat and slightly elevated temperature will go away soon. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow. My blood was too thin before the ordeal began, because my warfarin dosage seems to be off. It is still too thin, and not helping matters at all.

Please send some healing my way. Then, I will talk about clairvoyance.

I am sorry to be such a complainer.

Good for you for wanting an explanation and for your endeavor to understand it. Some people with this ability are frightened of it and do their best to discourage it. There certainly are ways to do that, just as there are ways to develop it.

Even many well-known personalities with this ability tried to discourage it. Theresa Caputo, the "Long Island Medium," did so, but at great risk to her mental health. Theresa has anxiety problems. Once she started working with her gift instead of trying to ignore it, her anxiety issues became much better. She still, however, suffers from the disorder--as anyone who watches the show will attest.

Your experience was very interesting. I can imagine how odd it must have seemed to you at the time, though. After decades of similar experiences, I've finally learned to recognize them, although now and then, one will slip by me when it happens. Upon thinking about it, one realizes it was a message.

I definitely want to hear more of your experiences and I will share some of my own, too.

As far as "death" messages go, though, I get them quite frequently. Sometimes they are about people I don't even know. I posted about this one on this forum a long time ago, but a couple days before "Golden Girls" actress Bea Arthur crossed over, I heard a voice remark casually that she would be leaving us soon.

Bea Arthur has no significance to me. None, zip, zilch, zero, nada. Never even watched the show. Don't know why I was privy to that information, but I was.

On the other hand, my neighbor's bulldog, who I loved very much, was living on borrowed time (very old). One morning when I looked out my window and saw her outdoors, I heard a voice saying that she would be crossing over in the next few days. In fact, that is what happened. She also paid me a visit after she crossed over. The visit was very touching to me and it took a long, long time before I could even articulate it to my friend, her human.

Here are some recommendations that will help you in your quest to understand:

--you may want to subscribe to a program called "Coast to Coast." Actually, before you subscribe, just go to youtube and download some of their shows. If you like it, subscribe. I have been a subscriber for years, as it is like a paranormal school. You'll learn about everyone in the paranormal area from that show.

Unfortunately, the main host, George Noory, does a poor job.The other hosts are good, though.

Do a search for "howard hughes paranoml," Howard is terrific.

I have more suggestions, but have to go to bed now.
