Bill Moyers guest: Nuns on the Bus, discusses Subsidiarity.

http://billmoyers.com/segment/debating-the-role-of-religious-leaders-in-u-s-poverty-policy/

Listening to the other guest, Robert Royal, talk about the ivory tower solution to the poverty problem is astonishing! Robert Royal, the founder of the Faith & Reason Institute makes arguments that come from the ivory towers and dont recognize the problems and suffering. The nun calls some of his comments "scare tactics." Scroll down on the Moyers site to check out the comments that other viewers made about what he said.

He also brings up the concept of Subsidiarity which Paul Ryan also talks about (at 13:00 into the video). The Oxford English Dictionary defines subsidiarity as the idea that a central authority should have a subsidiary function, performing only those tasks which cannot be performed effectively at a more immediate or local level. Check out the Wikipedia article.
