(THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP! RESPECT!!)Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American woman elected to Congress, has drawn the ire of many Jews during her first term for making statements that some saw as anti-Semitic. Now, she has a serious primary opponent in her Detroit-area district who may have anti-Semitic baggage of her own.
Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones announced Wednesday that she would be running in the Democratic primary against Tlaib. Jones narrowly lost in the 2018 primary against Tlaib 31% to 30%, with multiple other candidates getting the remainder of the votes.
Jones, who has served on the Detroit City Council since 2005, has long been an outspoken supporter of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has been accused of anti-Semitism for decades.
Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment. This article will be updated should the Forward receive a response.

I'm not saying your wrong about the political orientation of his group, but he does seems to have some fans on the left. Pretty prominent ones at that.

(95,241 posts)The Nation of Islam has a sufficient presence in the black community some may consider a bit of discreet courting paid to it a worthwhile political investment. Who Mallory is I haven't a clue, but one suspects Ms. Sarsour may agree with the fellow more than is comfortable.

On the left, unfortunately, dedication to anti-zionism can make people a bit less choosy about their bedfellows than they ought to be, or even lead them over the line themselves.

(1 post)She's one of my favorites in the house right now. I would really hate to see any of the Justice Democrats lose, but Rashida is such a firebrand that it would be particularly sad to see her go.

(47,425 posts)Anti Semitism. And Talib is Anti Semite. Not clear to me why your very first post in here but, please, remove it.
You will find plenty of forums to post it.
Thank you
