Anti-Semitic "cuddly" animals in NYC?

I watched the program "The Good Wife" yesterday. Not really a spoiler, but everyone was in NYC for a convention and one of them was taking a "selfie" with a "bear" mascot type at Times Square. When the bear continued calling her: stinking Jew..

She was trying to get the attention of others but, in Times Square?

On a discussion group someone said that there was an anti-Semitic "Elmo" in NYC and that, perhaps, provided the idea..

This is Carrie Preston who actually won an Emmy last year for the role of Elbeth Tascioni. She also appeared in earlier episodes of Person of Interest.
