René Guénon - The Crisis of the Modern World

A rather interesting slideshow:

René Guénon was a French author who wrote a lot about metaphysics, sacred science, and spirituality during the early 20th century. He was also a social critic and often criticised things like materialism, which he felt had robbed much of the modern world of its dignity. He studied Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam and later became a Sufi. Guenon's work influenced Huston Smith, the author of one of the most popular introductions to comparative religion, and to a lesser extent, Joseph Campbell, who wrote "The Power of Myth".
