I got a look at Comet Pan-STARRS tonight through binoculars....

It is a nice sight - it is always amazing to see comets, with their fuzzy tail, sitting stationary in the sky - I got a good look at it at dusk - the moon was quite a bit higher in the sky than the comet, which was much closer to the horizon, beneath and a little to the left of the moon. There was still too much twilight to see it without the binocs.

We will be at the beach this weekend and I hope, with the perfect view of the horizon, I can get a few pics of it.....

West - but it is visible only for a short while at dusk - then sinks below the horizon. NRaleighLiberal Mar 2013 #3
