A streak of blue jet lightning was captured by pilot and photographer Thijs Bors in the Northern Territory, Australia, during a thunderstorm. Blue jets are cones of blue light that spray upwards from the tops of thunderclouds. They can reach up to 25 miles, and strike at approximately 22,000mph.

piolts and others have been reporting this phenomina for years and have been poo pooped by sscientsts untill these were photographed by astronauts . very lovely photo indeed .

9. There is lots of video out there taken from the Space Station and the Space Shuttle

of this phenomenon. It is fascinating and beautiful.
