This is probably about the Fermi paradox. Enrico Fermi simply asked, "Where are they?" Apparently everybody at that lunch discussion knew what he was asking.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall during that lunch.

Nevertheless, it is one of the best framings of a scientific quandary in history, said so succinctly. "Where are they?"

Oopsie! It's about the Drake equation, not Fermi. Nevertheless, it does feature the awesome biologist, Jack Cohen and the delusional Peter Ward (the latter who somehow thinks that Earth is alone in the universe).
