Three hundred Intel® Shooting Star drones lit up the sky in a choreographed aerial performance marking the first-ever drone integration during a televised event and a Super Bowl.

The Intel Shooting Star drones are a new type of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), specifically designed for entertainment purposes such as festivals and entertainment events. The purpose-built quadcopter drone is built with safety in mind and equipped with LED lights that can create over 4 billion color combinations and easily be programmed for any animation. (80,708 posts)I understood the technical accomplishment, but the fact is that the viewing public is pretty used to the idea of basically any sort of screen magic being doable through CGI. It's possible the drone show looked way cooler in person.
OTOH, I thought the system intel developed with the cameras ringing the field allowing them to interpolate a 3D image of the game and fly a virtual camera anywhere on the field- that was cool.
