Related: About this forumNew Close-Up Image of Jupiter's South Pole is Mind-Blowingly Beautiful
NASAs Juno spacecraft has once again delivered stunning images of Jupiter, this time giving us a glimpse at the gas giants south pole. The image, taken from Junos most recent flyby on February 2nd, was captured at an altitude 63,400 miles. While there arent any Jovian penguins on this south pole (that we know of), we can clearly see magnificent, swirling white clouds.
Since Juno arrived on July 4th 2016, citizen scientists and other enthusiasts have been geeking out over the orbiters raw images, which are always available on the Juno Cam site. The public is encouraged to download, enhance, and submit their new images to NASA. The stunning photo featured above, enhanced by citizen scientist Roman Tkachenko, was taken from this raw image:

Thanks for the link, n2doc! Have a heart!
Juno, along with the other explorer/robots we've sent to the outer planets, has provided scientists with data that they'll analyze for years to come. Exploration and the search for knowledge should be one of humankind's primary endeavors.
