De-Extinction. I'm listening to a BBC Radio piece about bringing extinct species back...

It's been done, sort of, when a Spanish group actually used the DNA of a recently extinct species of ibex to bring it "back from the dead".

Experiments are also being done to see if we can actually bring the passenger pigeon back.

Jurassic Park for real? Probably not, but we are on an interesting path.

The Tyrannosaurus DNA is too corrupted to bring one of those back, but there's a followup discussion on just what we should bring back.

Do a search for de-extinction and all sorts of interesting things show up.
