Aurora looks just as cool from space, as seen from the International Space Station

The Aurora Australis put on a show in the South Island this week with locals capturing the spectacle from New Zealand.

From space, the aurora looks just as impressive.




A view of the aurora from the International Space Station in 2011.


The International Space Station crossed over the southern Indian Ocean in 2011 when it captured the auroa glowing over Earth. The 30 second video clip is sped up and covers 23 minutes or real time from the space station.
