Stellaris 'Ancient Relics' expansion lets you investigate precursor civilizations

Stellaris keeps on growing and growing!

Stellaris is an evolution of the grand strategy genre with space exploration at its core. It features complex gameplay, a diverse selection of aliens, and emergent storytelling like many modern titles. According to publisher Paradox Interactive, Stellaris contains "engaging moments that reward interstellar exploration" as you traverse, discover, interact, and learn more about the characters you encounter.

The game has received many expansions over the years, but the post-launch support isn't going to end anytime soon. Today, the company announced that Stellaris is getting the "Ancient Relics" expansion soon. Ancient Relics will add two new "Precursors" to investigate, forgotten "Relic Worlds" to explore, and more archaeological wonders to uncover. It's unclear when it's coming to consoles, because so far it's only been announced for PC.

Ancient Relics: Collect and acquire valuable relics in your adventures as rewards for overcoming major crises or after completing a dig at an archaeological site and solving the chapters. Each relic gives significant benefits to your empire.

Those Who Came Before: Encounter clues about two extinct Precursor civilizations, the Baol and the Zroni, the former a sprawling hivemind of plantoids, the latter some of the most powerful psionics to have ever lived.
