constantly begging for water and nobody will give them any. It's like it was designed to torture people who live in the desert.

Coincidence, probably.

Heaven, OTOH, is like the best sermon you ever heard and it goes on forever. Also they have those little thin cushions so your legs don't go to sleep.

Instead there is a pantheon of god like beings with a top three headed god ruling over them. At least some of the Protestant sects tossed that woo out and rebooted the belief system back to one god, except of course many of them toss satan back into the mix.

is when the liberal/moderate Christians discard all the silly elements of OT Christian theology - Adam & Eve, Noah, Lot, Abraham, etc. - they are left with absolutely no foundation for what they do believe, about Jesus, salvation, forgiveness, and so on.

They go to the Christian cafeteria and only pick from the desserts.

If not I would point you to the boiling point of sulphur, which is a max for hell to have molten sulphur or brimstone. About 450 degrees C from memory. We are told (somewhere in Isaiah I think) that the power of the sun in heaven is seven times seven greater than on earth, plus the moon is as powerful as the earth sun. Quick bit of fourth-power math on the heat generated by that 50X increase in solar radiation comes out to be about 525 degrees C.

Plus with all those clouds it would be a much more humid heat.

The only problem with this is that most of these people were handed these spiritual templates through the prism of the Judeo-Christian religion. They reject the absurdity, but still want to hold onto some semblance of being "saved" (the feeling they felt when they were Christians) without the hullabaloo.

I find that those people are just fooling themselves, too. Christianity, Islam, Spirituality, Soul, Casper the Friendly Ghost....it's all bullshit, people. It's okay to admit that we're masses of proteins floating in space.

in their own minds. Most of them will, sooner or later, have the nerve to admit that they are atheists. That is not an easy leap to make, and it should come when they are comfortable with it. I believe that the more people who are willing to declare that they are atheists, the more of the people on the edge will also admit it.

BTW, welcome to DU and A&A.
