I've been doing atheism wrong - according to Pastor John Hagee

via Friendly Atheist and Right Wing Watch

Together with a whole load of other crazy about same sex marriage and creativity Pastor Hagee thinks the following:

... It is believed that when people stop believing in God, they believe nothing. That’s wrong. When people no longer believe in God, they will believe in anything. That’s why they start hugging trees. That’s why they start staring into crystals, joining cults, running into the woods, ripping off their shirts, baying at the moon, because it’s something intellectual people do when they get frustrated.
Now I do feel that embracing trees can go too far and you should have the express consent of the tree involved but I never realised that atheism was the reason why I find diamonds attractive and have to resist the urge to stare at them. The real problem is that I have no desire to rip off my clothes and worry the local sheep.

because they start believing in Goddess.

PS. Those embracing trees should make certain that the trees are above the age of consent.

The Father Brown stories are quite enjoyable if you can get past rubbish like the above.

Seems to not chime quite right. In other words, I doubt it.

Thanks, Pastor Hagee, for explaining that to me.

Damn it, I can't find a baying at the moon smilie!

At least he admitted that we are "intellectual".

And I know lots of intellectual people who get very frustrated when they don't get funding for their research (the norm these days) but I've never seen it result in their baying at the moon, either. Not even if they are atheists.

Does Hagee confuse atheists with werewolves or something?
