Why does God permit the existence of non-believers?

God knows exactly what it would take to prove to atheists that he's the boss. Why doesn't he eliminate all dissent once and for all?

Anything else is an insult to god. God thrives on the insults so it can act in a vengeful, evil, and pointlessly destructive manner, time and time again.

Predestination. Not all fundies believe in that doctrine but those that do, Calvinists like most Baptists and Presbyterians, have no other answer than the oblivion answer, "we can't know the mind of God" then they have to admit there are some who are not chosen to be saved. Then you ask, "why not? Does god just discard the rest for some reason?" Then the answer has to be, "He doesn't discard them, He just knew ahead of time that they wouldn't accept him." Then I ask, "then why try to save people?" Answer, "because the bible says to do so... AND -> Because "we can't know the mind of God".

You ever rode a merry-go-round for so long that you had to throw up?
