I faced a real jury today

Not the DU variety, but the real thing. Not only was I facing monstrous fines, but I was looking at jail time. This case went on for two years, and not once did I pray to Jesus to save me. I wish I could say they found me innocent on all counts, but I was happy with the next best thing. The jury was hung, 9 votes for innocent, 2 votes for guilty, and one undecided. It is unlikely the DA will seek a new trial.

I realize this is not the Criminal Justice group, but I hang out with you guys enough to think that maybe someone would be interested. I won't discuss the case as it is kind of embarrasing, but I will say this: our country's drug laws suck!

and 9 going with innocent, I think that you are right---it is unlikely that the DA will try again. You are also right that this country's drug laws suck....too many people are behind bars for the most ridiculous "crimes" related to drugs.

I am glad to hear that you will, more than likely, be ok now. Just keep your nose clean, because I bet the DA is really pissed and would love to have another shot at you.

I would also like to echo Curmudgeoness's comments about not doing anything that might give the DA another chance at you!

We need all the advocates we can get here in A&A!!!

Yeah, our drug laws FUCKIN' SUCK. No doubt about it. At least you won't be going to jail, though.

Yes, our drug laws suck big time, as people seem to agree.

Glad your ordeal is over, and for all our sakes, yeah, steer clear of that DA!
