Religion In The Comics - 024

This week, RITC takes a look at Coloring Books. If you have read my many posts on religion, then you know that my greatest concern is with the brainwashing and abuse of children. I wish there were laws that would protect children from religious abusers like there are laws against pedophiles. Destroying a child's mind is just as evil as sexual abuse. Here are some pages that illustrate what I am referring to. These pages are from Christian Answers .net http://www.christiananswers.net/kids/clr-indx.html#dinosaurs

The Behemoth
"Look at the Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. He ranks first among the works of God." —Job 40:15-19

Two by Two
"There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah." --Genesis 7: 9. Noah’s Ark had plenty of room for the animals. God brought each representative to Noah. This also included the dinosaur, probably a young pair of each main type of dinosaur.

Ferocious or Friendly?
Originally, dinosaurs must have been harmless--designed to delight man and benefit the world, just like all the other animals. When first created, all dinosaurs ate only plants and fruits. After the Flood, dinosaurs and all other animals were made to be afraid of people (Genesis 9:2). Looking at the fossils, it appears that most dinosaurs were still harmless plant-eaters at that time--many hundreds of years after the Fall.

I am outraged that these people are deliberately teaching our youngsters to be stupid. Surely, this is a crime against humanity. And it doesn't stop there. Here is the advice given to those who would display their ignorance to the world:

10 TIPS for Christian students in secular classrooms

For best student/teacher relations, maintain a good humor about situation and stay objective. Stick to the facts. A Christian’s attitude should be one of love and sensitivity toward all, including teachers. Do not resort to emotional arguments or verbal assaults. Do not belittle the beliefs of a teacher.

Phrase comments and questions in a sensitive way that depersonalizes the issues. It is very unlikely that embarrassing a teacher in front of a class will produce desirable results! Information should be presented with an attitude of good will, good humor, and honest respect. Teachers are more likely to respond favorably to a good, hard-working student who is simply looking for honest answers, than to a student who appears hostile, ill-humored, poorly prepared, or who sounds like a “know it all.”

Before making a classroom presentation or paper, become as well-informed as possible about Creationism and the problems involved with Evolutionism. Books such as The Illustrated ORIGINS Answer Book are specially organized to make this study quick and effective.

In many public schools, there is a strong sensitivity against the expression of Christian religious beliefs in the classroom. Students have more latitude than teachers on this point. However, in the classroom, students are usually wise to strictly limit their comments to scientific facts, rather than dealing with biblical information or religious beliefs.

Don’t be surprised about not being treated fairly in a public school when discussing the subject of Creationism. Be prepared to handle such treatment with a proper Christian attitude. It is an unfortunate reality that many teachers and administrators are strongly biased and misinformed on this subject. This is quite understandable. In most cases, their entire education (grade school through college) was totally one-sided on this issue.

Remember that students are under the authority of the teacher, even teachers who are antagonistic to Christianity. Christian students have a responsibility to respect their teacher’ authority and remain courteous and respectful at all times, even if they don’t agree on the subject of Evolution.

Loan the teacher a good book on the subject, especially one which maintains scientific objectivity. Also of interest are various books critical of Evolutionism written by Evolutionists. Use of these avoids making the issue look like a religious battle.

Realize that all teachers and classroom situations are not the same. What may work with one teacher or school may not be effective with another.

Remember that the main purpose of a student in school is to learn, not to witness. However, students should remain open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. There are many exciting stories about how students provided the questions and information that eventually produced major changes in teachers’ lives.

Prayer is the most important ingredient in any human endeavor. Be sure that classroom efforts are founded upon time spent in prayer. PARENTS: Take advantage of this opportunity to pray with your child concerning their Christian walk, attitudes and faithfulness.

Doesn’t it take millions of years for a dinosaur bone to become a fossil?

Just because something is “fossilized” does not mean that it is millions (or even thousands) of years old. When the conditions and materials are right, a bone can become filled with minerals fairly quickly. The main ingredients are:

1. Quick burial.

2. Water, in the right amounts.

3. Suitable minerals.

Conditions during the Flood were ideal for “fossilizing” millions of animals and plants.

Researchers have found that chicken bones and wood can be replaced with minerals in just five to ten years. A big dinosaur bone might take hundreds of years to completely mineralize. It all depends on the burial conditions over the years.

Many dinosaur remains are still not completely turned in to rock. More than half of the fossil is still original bone, not stone! Some even have chemicals from the living animals (proteins and amino acids)! Some fish fossils still have a fishy smell when first uncovered.

Some of the plants buried during the Flood are not fossilized either. In New Jersey, large amounts of wood from trees that were growing at the same time as dinosaurs can be found in the dirt (Cretaceous clay). They are preserved, but not turned to stone at all. In England, fragile plant hairs and tiny details of the plant’s cells can be seen. The plants are not turned into rock. They are just flattened and blackened. Since the Flood happened only about four or five thousand years ago, these types of discoveries are not surprising.

I suppose carbon dating is just part of the evil evolutionists' plan to confuse christians.

An evolutionary sidetrack that didn't survive 'cos it kept falling over?

Perhaps it's one of the ones who didn't make it onto the ark?

How Many Types of Dinosaurs are Known?

"These species are placed in about 300 valid dinosaur genera (Stegosaurus, Diplodocus, etc.), although about 540 have been named. Recent estimates suggest that about 700 to 900 more dinosaur genera may remain to be discovered."

Of course, if you just include the "main types" ....that would be a lot less. Right?

"Originally, dinosaurs must have been harmless--designed to delight man and benefit the world"

Y'know... like flowers, made to delight man, and not to attract potential pollinators. And humming birds.... the males so iridescent and colorful just for us. The female birds don't care what the males look like. It's all for me.....ME....ME!!!

Every time I think the Cretinists can't possibly surprise me, they do.

WIth stuff like this:

Originally, dinosaurs must have been harmless--designed to delight man and benefit the world, just like all the other animals.

Sweet Lycanthropian Jebus. It's the Flintstone/Disney Hybrid Model of the Natural World. Apparently written by someone who has never seen an animal outside a zoo or pet shop.

"Designed to delight man...just like all the other animals?"

Please go and interview some animals to back up that claim. Preferably some animals who are going to look at you and think "lunch." Or if that's too difficult, go delight yourself with a rattlesnake.

They even give you a warning.

I prefer to see them try to prove that theory with a Black Mamba or a Carpet Viper.

Snake handling churches only use less lethal varieties for a reason. I've always wanted to see what would happen if they started shaking and swinging more aggressive snakes around the place.
