Allah also works in mysterious ways...

Posted in the Atheists/Agnostics Group, a safe haven, etc. etc. And no, Mr/Ms Potential Alerter, I'm not making fun of a horrible accident. Just pointing out that the "mysterious ways" of all deities are identical to random chance. Funny how that works.

From the BBC:

At least 107 people died and more than 230 people were injured when a crane collapsed in the Muslim holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The huge red crane crashed into a part of the Grand Mosque - the largest in the world - that was filled with worshippers at the time.

The head of Saudi Arabia's civil defence said strong winds and heavy rains had caused the collapse.

Mecca is currently preparing for the annual Muslim Hajj pilgrimage. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to arrive in the Saudi city from all over the world later this month.

This accident is not too surprising, since the area around the Grand Mosque is constantly being upgraded and modified, with construction continuing even as all those pilgrims flood into the city.

An interesting side-note to that - some Muslim critics are complaining about Mecca being "Vegas-ized." They also complain that all this urban renewal has destroyed some of Mecca's oldest historical and religious sites. Like the alleged house of Abu Bakr, one of Mohammed's first followers.

For example, Saudi-Arabia destroyed the house of Aisha, Mohammed's wife, to make place for a hotel parking-lot. Seriously.

They are totally lacking in the power to do anything whatsoever. Why, it's almost as if they were imaginary. Go figure.

They haven't accepted Jesus Christ the Son of God as the One True Way to Salvation. If a crane fell through a cathedral and killed Christians, that would be completely different. It would be because of the Special Secret Reason, paragraph 67b of Subsection 386.25 of God's Grand Plan. God would call those people Home early because He needs them in Heaven, which makes TOTAL sense if you think about it.

...and probably found, as in your OP: It was Allah expressing his discontent of the "Vegas-ization" of the holy site.

Fundy Christians, like Pat Robertson, will probably credit God with punishing those followers of that bloodthirsty religion over there.

God seems to will a lot of horrific things. This is an unfortunate accident, but I am sure that there is some mysterious reason that some will attribute to Allah, even though no one could know his will. Confused? So am I.
