Religion In The Comics - 041

Drawn by Mort Meskin in 1952. Writer unknown.

So what does this have to do with religion? I did not see this last panel coming. It was printed upside down, and if you ask me, the answer is upside down too. I haven't made up my mind as to what advice I would have given, but I wouldn't have gone here.

So much wrong there, I don't know where to start.

I love these old comics, though, thanks for posting. My brother was a collector and had issues older than this.

so that he could step in and "comfort" Linda with his big, manly privilege.

I suppose that doesn't coincide with the one given by Nancy Hale.

I have this advice:

Linda should apply for her old man's job in order to overcome her fears. Fuck that misogynistic crap in the bible. Get up there, woman, and listen to the angels whisper. And put some distance between those poor devils below.

is that Ruth was a lesbian. She was in love with Naomi, her mother in law.

It's really a beautiful story, not holy or mystical. Just the love of one woman for another.

Ruth does remarry after Naomi's son dies, but it's mainly economical. The real love is between Naomi and Ruth.

And later, after she and Jack separate over Mrs Biederhof.... she can have her daughter shoot him....
