Christianity’s Unbroken Record of Failure
July 17, 2017 by Bob Seidensticker

Show one scientific truth about nature or new technology that was discovered first in the pages of the Bible.

Show one disease eliminated from the earth or one missing limb restored through prayer.

Show one person who can preach the gospel in every human language.

Show one Bible prophecy or interesting prediction by a Christian prophet that is accepted as fulfilled by non-Christians.

Show one supernatural event in the Bible that is accepted by historians.

Show one earthquake or volcano that was halted by an incantation or holy relic.

Show one tsunami or plague whose damage was undone by divine action.

Show any supernatural claim within Christianity that is accepted by non-Christians.

An unbroken record of failure

Debunking them doesn't matter. They believe and that's that.

AFAIK, Christianity did have one success, convincing kings they couldn't take it with them. Many ancient kingdoms were initially bankrupted by the grave goods that had to be buried with a dead king, the heir having to raise taxes and increase territory and enslave more people in order to make his own posthumous pile. It's why so many glittering civilizations didn't last all that long. An invisible heaven with no corporeal goods needed was a distinct advance.

Archaeologists will disagree, since the few undisturbed tombs they've found have given great insight into some of these long gone cultures.

However, no Christian, not even the most fervent believer, can point to a single instance of an amputated limb being regrown by faith, saints, relics, or blessings. Reanimation of intact corpses, sure. New arms or legs, nope.

Ezekiel 26:21 (Concerning the city of Tyre)
I will bring you to a horrible end and you will be no more. You will be sought, but you will never again be found, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
