Jesus Is a Myth’: Laura Ingraham Flips Out over Atheist Sign

In a country where extremist “Christians” can’t handle that not everyone agrees with their religious beliefs, only one “news” channel would create a ridiculous, investigative segment focusing on a homemade, Atheist poster. Fox News, in disbelief that yes, not everyone is a “Christian”, decided to spew out an entire update focusing souly on a piece of cardboard, instead of ( as usual ) reporting any actual news.

The poster, which stated “Nobody died for our “sins”, Jesus Christ is a myth.” was held by a Freedom From Religion Foundation member in front of the Wisconsin capital building. Bill O’Reilly was quick to blow up over this obvious piece of important news while over-analyzing it with Fox News “analyst” Laura Ingraham. While non-Christians — those who do not adhere to a religion, or even Christians who are not extreme enough — attempt to be seen as human beings, and at times, not get murdered, Fox news unsurprisingly decided that the poster was a serious war on Christianity.

“Fair minded people know that’s appalling but why do you think the Atheist group is doing it.” stated O’Reilly, implying that anyone who happened to be Atheist just couldn’t be in their right mind.

Ingraham replied with a wonderfully ignorant slew of opinions, “Every Christian Holiday we see something like this. They don’t really do it so much with the Muslim holidays.” Yes, of course, every Christian holiday is definitely not accepted by our mass culture and it’s so hard to be a Christian with so many dangers out there. Have a “Got Jesus?” bumper sticker? You might get followed by a hoard of some other religion telling you to accept their savior! Muslims aren’t murdered, degraded, spied on, and looked at as subhuman by our culture – no way, that’s all fake, according to Fox News. Christians must be oppressed, with the Holidays they strategically set on Pagan religious dates and the customs that most of the population takes part in. What mass oppression!

After deeming the poster “anti-all religion” ( makes sense, since every religion believes in Jesus right? ) ironically, Ingraham and O’Reilly both spoke on how they thought the group was just trying to “get attention” and have “their moment in the sun” while simultaneously talking about the poster and showing it for almost 5 minutes. The two also discussed how degrading other people never changed any minds. Possibly Fox News should review its entire method of practice and how it continuously insults poverty stricken individuals, minority groups, non-Christian belief systems, women, LGTBQIA individuals and other cultures.

That she wrote a book called Shut Up and Sing in which she berated entertainers for offering their opinions about politics without realizing that she's no more a journalist than any of the other blow-dried, empty talking heads on Fox.

She knows how to play her audience and it's obviously paid off.

On the bright side just think of the material she'll give late night comedians. Not as much fun to mock as the other wingnut Sarah Palin but still..

This kind of thing is stated so often it even has its own term: fatwa envy.

Fatwa envy is the term used for the phenomenon of people complaining that criticism of their religion or political beliefs is wrong because the criticism would never be directed at Muslims for fear of violence or death (or, in a related argument, because of political correctness). This complaint is widely associated with Poe-like Christians, although more secular wingnuts have also been known to use this argument.
