Atheists & Agnostics
Related: About this forumHoly S*** guys and gals, "other ways of knowing" are actually REAL!
I'll confess, I just reread something for probably the hundredth time, and it smacked me in the face with its simplicity: the subatomic makeup of carbon.
It's clear now! The Bible is full of metaphor that is actually conveying revealed knowledge! Think about it...
"The Beast" is the mythical creature from the Bible that will bring about the end of days.
The "mark of The Beast" is 666.
Carbon has 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons.
Carbon just happens to be the primary cause of global warming.
Global warming will, with some likelihood, bring about the end of our days.
Carbon is The Beast. And it gets better!
There is some discussion in biblical circles that The Beast is meant as metaphor for all of man's failings...that in a way, The Beast is really man bringing about his own downfall. And what are we but carbon-based lifeforms?
Don't you see? John wrote about this more than a millennium before the atom was properly postulated. This is proof of revealed knowledge, an "other way of knowing," a proof that we've all been asking for, and I felt obligated to come here and share it. Perhaps it was God talking to me after all!

(763 posts)But what about this ... (Coincidence? I don't think so):
The letter "Vav" (alternate spelling "Waw" in Hebrew is the same symbol used for the number 6.
The letter "Vav" is transliterated into English as the letter "W".
So "WWW" spells "666".
The World Wide Web is the the Beast!

(18,219 posts)It is very clever. But....I would have to make giant leaps of faith to assume there is anything more than a fascinating twist to come up with this.
And I rarely jump these days.
