So I'm sitting here finishing my dinner and watching Rome - Engineering an Empire on History Channel 2.
Happily, Xians were only mentioned briefly and once - about those Extreme Games that Nero was nice enough to hold for them in the amphitheatre. Oh, and the alleged big BBQ.
But just wait! Saturday night H2 is running a new show, "Proving God."
Judging by the pullquotes in the ad, it's going to be the same old tiresome crap:
"Einstein said the laws of physics revealed the mind of God!"
I really love this one:
"If there was a Big Bang, there must have been a Big Banger!"

I caught that accidentally once. Within 5 minutes it had come up with the stupidest, most illogical crap ever. I remember something about an ancient grid of holes (something an ancient civilization could NEVER do!) and if you connected them is a certain way,(you can connect them any way you want!) they formed Pythagorean triangles 1000s of years BEFORE PYTHAGORAS! (As if a Pythagorean triangle couldn't even exist before Pythagoras gave it his name!) 
Christians love to quote him because he often spoke of "god" (small "g"
. But he was neither a theist, nor what one call an atheist. Unfortunately for the kookie theist who quote Einstein, he spoke often of his religious beliefs. Most specifically he stated in no uncertain terms that he did not believe in any personal god, one that had any interaction with humans.
Einstein described his god as Spinoza's god. He was a pantheist, who used the language of god as a place holder, and only such, for that which humankind might not yet understand. God, to Einstein, means nothing about a higher intelligence, but a higher order of nature, to which humans may be inspired to know.
I hate it whenever Christians (usually them, but other theists, too) misquote old Albert like this.
By today's standards he would be considered an atheist, although he might not use that word.

The woos actually did a write-in campaign to National Geographic, complaining that the show was too skeptical.
The usual format - for the first 20 minutes to half-hour, the show let the True Believers run wild and make their outrageous claims. Then they brought in real scientists, researchers etc. and just demolished all the BS.
It was a beautiful thing to see.
The show had a Bigfoot episode, but it mostly concentrated on debunking the notorious Bigfoot video from the 1970s. That was the "female Bigfoot," complete with Bigboobs.
Sometimes on weekends, NatGeo runs marathons of all the old episodes.
