When I worked outside for a living, I was very into watching TWC and stuff like that to be prepared.
I find it interesting and it could be that this group will get more attention when a weather event occurs. This an important source of news. I remember when Sandy hit the northeast and posters offered links to the emergency services lines in NYC and they were working around the clock. I stayed up half the night listening to them dispatch. The level of coordination and planning was impressive despite any thing that didn't work out.

(37,457 posts)I've lived in Florida all my life, so it's second nature for me to be attuned to tropical weather developments. I've always been interested in meteorology/climatology.
I think most of DU is not aware of this group. I did a post in Welcome & Help once, but that's dropped now. Have a great day !
