I'll just come out and say that a few of these individuals were a bit odd in their judgments and mannerisms and I suspect the videographer chose them with that in mind. Also, one gets the sense that none of these people have had much experience drinking alcohol. Yet another issue: It appeared that all these alcohols were served at room temperature, which is going to make some of them very unappealing. Who drinks vodka warm?

Lastly, I was also wondering if some Asian/Asian pride or even prejudice might be at play here. If you've consumed Chinese rice wine, I find it hard to believe that Japanese rice wine would taste as horrible as a few of these Chinese taste testers claim. Overall, I'd have to say that the quality of Japanese food stuffs trumps that of the Chinese versions.

No offense intended toward anyone here. Asian alcohol is by no means my area of expertise; if I'm making some mistakes here, I'd be happy to be corrected.
