(1,837 posts)I've never heard Chris Matthews give an interesting take on anything. His perspective is about an inch wide. If you DVR a week's worth of Hardball and do a shot every time he brings up the Kennedys, within an hour you'll be unable to stand up unassisted.

(9,688 posts)He's a blockhead that's for sure.
But he has a gift for putting on an earnest expression and reciting a line - like "American exceptionalism! Yah!" or "We're all neo-cons now!"
Worse than Wolf Blitzer.

(9,688 posts)They all watched as those who promoted the progressive left were shit-canned, regardless of their ratings. They all learned the lesson, that if they want to keep that enormous paycheck coming they'll not cross certain lines. Until it became second nature.
It's terrible how Rachel Maddow's range got circumscribed and further circumscribed from her Air America days, from her earliest days on MSNBC when she actually had on a few fresh faces. Until now, where it's so totally BORING I don't even watch excerpts. But she went along.
