(4,452 posts)blindness. They are so invested in the view of the world as it was that they can't recognize that a change is a comin'.
I'm pretty old but I remember the lessons of my parents grandparents who dealt with the last great crash and I spent most of my working life around kids from 5 to 20. I wish all those Very Serious People that seem to control public opinion could get as broad a perspective. Then they might recognize they will be caught in the wake if they don't get with the program.
The world is changing and those kids and us old folks(who stay informed) will probably be the deciding factor. I just hope like hell we can make the change.

(2,510 posts)Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

I see... no earthquakes or lightning
I see... no trouble on the way
Come on out tonight
It's bound to treat you right
There's a Bern Moon on the rise.

(29,503 posts)she made last time, and she's losing because of that, and because of who she is.
I was so pessimistic back in November; now, I'm certain Bernie will our next president.
Thanks for the encouraging thread.

(80,708 posts)Without inevitability, electability, name recognition, star power, etc.. when confronted with a candidate that actually has positions on issues that are clearly articulated;
apparently all that is left is to blatantly misrepresent that candidate's positions and hope the voters aren't bright enough to figure it out.

(29,503 posts)I'm trying to figure out which Greek figure she most resembles. Not Antigone. There's just GOT to be a classical story that can serve as an apt metaphor for who she is, and her sense of entitlement (as if all she had to do to earn voter support was to show up). ...?
