But you do have the prerogative to cast your vote on any basis you want.

If you decide you cannot vote for a candidate who has not released full medical records, then you have the right to vote however you want, for any reason you want.

Does some unspecified collective "we" have the right to obtain medical records of any individual who does not desire them to be released? No.

I don't want to pick on Chris Christie but physicians do a heart attack risk assessment, and I assure you his risk is higher than other 53 year olds.

It's kind of the point of elections. The electorate decides what they care about.

We also elect a spare at the same time, and concerns about McCain's health, and his backup, no doubt influenced many votes.

with a Vice President who was considered so inept the phrase was coined to err is Truman. Fortunately, Truman was a much better president than the public thought he would be, but the American people did deserve to know just how unwell FDR actually was.

But it's a silly question as it refers to Bernie Sanders. Especially for some guy who has been campaigning on a super-human schedule, looking fit as a fiddle, in fact he's getting even "fiercer"...in the Beyonce sense. As someone mentioned, he was back on the trail the day after surgery.

I think you're "beating a dead horse" with that claptrap.

However, you have ZERO right to ask a candidate to release his/her medical records (HIPAA).

Therefore, for the public to be able to know if a candidate is medically fit to serve there has to be an internal reporting process--for instance, I had to get a physical before going to nursing school to be able to prove my health standing, although, I was not asked to show my future patients, nor did I have to share it with my fellow nursing students.

and that means at a time relatively near the election itself. Hillary released hers last summer, by election day those conclusions will be 15 or 16 months old. How does that really help?

Do we also have a right to scrutinize their eating habits?

I mean, say for instance someone spent an inordinate amount of time at McDonalds, would we be justified in thinking that his or her health could take a turn for the worse in a short time period?

to be fit for the Presidency and had a stroke just a few years later.

I should think that buying a head of lettuce and some fresh vegetables would actually be cheaper in the long run than purchasing salads at McDonalds.

My cousin is a hospital engineer and a super bright guy. He was checking the heart doppler at the hospital where he worked and discovered his own blockage.

When I was a young person I had two friends who had Jackson's mom as a teacher. Her name was Mrs. Browne.

she seems to have forgotten she was leading the fight for Universal health care in the 90's and that just 8 years ago she was berating Obama for attacking her on the health care issue. She also seems to be forgetting that expanding medicare is not the same thing as dismantling health care for everyone.
