Hillary Clinton’s Lead Over Bernie Sanders Widens - WSJ

http://www.wsj.com/articles/clintons-lead-over-sanders-widens-1453039203

WASHINGTON— Hillary Clinton has widened her lead to 25 percentage points in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.

The former secretary of state leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders 59% to 34%, a slightly larger margin than the 19-point gap in December.

The new national poll comes as surveys in Iowa and New Hampshire show the race tightening in the states that play host to the first two nominating contests. While losses there would be a setback for Mrs. Clinton, the new Journal/NBC News survey suggests that she would retain strong advantages in the later primaries. Mrs. Clinton owes her durable lead nationally to her strength with key subgroups in the Democratic primary electorate, including nonwhite, older and moderate-to-conservative primary voters.

We all love a good match. Hell, I'm bored right now watching the Panthers vs Seahawks game because it is so lopsided. We all like the "they can come back!" rhetoric but the reality is that Seattle is going to lose.

So is Sanders

no big surprise that such a 'poll' is manufactured ahead of Iowa by Clinton's donors.

"Fresh off the regulatory defeat of the $45 billion merger between Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC), Comcast regulatory affairs chief David L. Cohen is set to host a $2,700-a-plate fundraiser for 2016 Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton."

The media will tell everyone what they want them to hear. The only thing that could disrupt the narrative is if there is a gaffe or particularly interesting exchange. Otherwise, the summary of the debate is probably already written.

I guess that is why. Most of us don't work/live in an environment that mirrors the population.

Actually my friends and family who are Dems here in Alabama are big on Clinton. But, I wouldn't use them as an indicator (although it looks like their sentiments match the population at the moment)

Iowa and NH will not matter in the March primaries. Her lead in these super Tuesday states is overwhelming. Also, the southern state Dems love the Clintons and the numbers indicate such.

No one I know thinks otherwise.

Second, we have no way to verify your data date, accuracy, or source, so we have to take you at your word.

Third, the #s are not static. Wins in NH and IA will change the game in many other states

Finally, there are other indicators that show Sanders' strength (crowds, donations, etc.)

This won't be a cakewalk for anyone.

ON EDIT: My apologies for the crappy typing. I don't often post from my cellphone, but when I do, I really suck - my finger size to keypad size is ridiculous.

I like Sanders. I do. I'd be very happy if he was our nominee. I'm equally happy with Clinton. I really don't care which of the two wins. I do care about reality, however. Odds are very, very low for a Sanders victory.

My data are simply from what I glean from online sources the veracity of which are always suspect. But a dispassionate view of the data tells the undeniable tale of a Clinton win.

Again, I don't care which one wins. They are both so much better than the alternative.
