Clinton's New Slogan:Your govt is bought and paid for. Get over it & be "pragmatic" aka a sell out

like me! Of course you won't make all of the money Bill and I make but like Bill says "I gotta pay our bills."

Note: I worked in a corrupt industry. Not as corrupt and morally bankrupt as the political world but pretty corrupt nevertheless (though it's really the structure of the industry I worked in which fuels the corruption - just like it does for the rating agencies).

I noticed that many people would preach pragmatism in order to justify and rationalize their selling out. While there are those who feel no need to go through any form of self rationalization (and those people are scary indeed) there are many who need to rationalize in an attempt to justify their actions. When the environment one works in becomes so corrupt many people will rationalize going along as being pragmatic.

I use to wonder how so many relatively good people could sell out. It really puzzled me. However, when I read the following statement one day I started to understand: The mind has the infinite capacity to rationalize. The desire for power and greed can be the lure but our ability to infinitely rationalize for many make those lures irresistible.

Of course most of us work our asses off to keep food on the table a roof over our heads and pesky little incidentals like health insurance, school loans. Seriously he and Hillary need to take a long vacation, travel the world and do good things with their foundation money.

as mayor of NYC, and I don't believe Hillary's similar claims (on balance) will help her, either.
