If we're being honest, Sanders missed a huge opportunity RE:Flint

This was the chance to connect the dots on how money corrupts and the devastating effects of that corruption. To connect the dots on class and discrepancies with how people of different classes are treated. It would have been a way to show how he handles crisis, and a way to attract more minorities.

Instead, it seems he saw the crisis as an abstract problem that had nothing to do with him. A random tweet calling for Snyder's resignation was not enough. Tell voters the how and why of what led to the crisis and how you'd change things.

He can still do more, it's not too late.

It's an example of how for some politicians there is no situation they would not exploit.

There is nothing wrong with speaking out against wrong. What is disgusting is trying to act like you rushed in and saved the day.

to the Democratic Convention. However, it looks as though Hillary will win in that state handily, although polls are older there than in some states, and still include Biden. However, Biden supporters in those early polls tend to divide more heavily for Clinton.

It may be that Sanders has written off that state already, which would explain why he didn't press that issue at the last debate, while Clinton voluntarily offered her closing statement on that topic.

It remains a hot-button issue in the news, though, and deserves thought and comment by primary candidates. Michigan counts in the general election. It counts a lot.

Yesterday's NYT:

On the water crisis in Flint, Mich., [Bill Clinton] said that Mr. Sanders “genuinely cared about it,” before adding that Mrs. Clinton looked for a solution while Mr. Sanders called for the governor to resign. (Mr. Sanders did that only after saying he agreed with what Mrs. Clinton had said initially.)

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/01/20/bill-clinton-warns-of-gridlock-under-bernie-sanderss-health-care-plan/

Of course I let the NYT, both the public editor and staff writer, that they are peddling lies. Bernie called for the resignation the day before the debate, not just after Hillary answered the question about Flint (which was directed at her before him anyway). But that hasn't resulted in any change. I'm not surprised.

The GOP is so into in-fighting, it hasn't time or patience to deal with state issues. Seriously.

The Legislature is a joke, the government put in a new central computer system that failed utterly (never heard of decentralization as a safety measure). I stay here because I love the state. If we could get rid of the infestation of GOP, it would be heaven on earth.

back when Engler was Governor. I haven't worked for them for ten years now so I don't know if Mich ever gave it to them. I do know that the IT infrastructure was in place in the old GM building the State bought when GM moved to the RenCen. doesn't sound like the State took advantage of it when they moved in. I've also thought about relocating, but there is no where in the west or south that I find acceptable to live.

Seems I was misinformed...and by a Bernie supporter.

I can only give Clinton's campaign credit for communicating directly with Flint's mayor, something Sanders' folks didn't do.
