Raese readies for Senate rematch against West Virginia's Manchin

Looks like there could be a rematch in the West Virginia Senate race.

Republican businessman John Raese has filed papers to run again, hoping to unseat incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin, a freshman Democrat.

In 2010, then-Gov. Manchin and Raese battled it out to fill the seat left empty by Sen. Robert Byrd's death. Raese, who took up the tea party mantle, tried to link Manchin to President Obama’s agenda, particularly his healthcare law. Democrats in the state cast Raese, who has a home in Florida, as an out-of-touch carpetbagger.

Manchin turned out to be a rare bright spot for Democrats in an overall ugly year. He beat Raese handily, 53% to 43%.

Manchin may suck, but at least he's our suck.
