Hillary Clinton CNN Town Hall
Republicans should be very afraid because Hillary Clinton delivered nothing less than a presidential performance at the CNN Democratic Town Hall.

Video: Part 2 Hillary Clinton CNN Town Hall:
Hillary Clinton took aim at Republicans while calling on Democrats to build on the progress that has come during President Obamas time in office. Clinton took a shot at Trump and said its a great country no matter what one of the Republican candidates says. She blasted Republicans, The other side is not talking issues. Theyre talking insults.
Clinton was asked about young people being enthused about Bernie Sanders. She said that she is happy that people are engaged no matter who they support, and kept the focus on Democrats beating Republicans in November. Clinton told the young questioner that she had been fighting for change and progress since she was his age. She talked about how she fought for universal health care in 1993 and 1994. She said, Youve got to keep going. Never give up. She told young people not get discouraged with politics and to keep going.
Former Sec. Clinton was asked how voters can be sure that income inequality will be a top priority for her. She talked about her decades of fighting for equality in all areas. She said, I have a really long history of taking on all inequality. One thing that is becoming clear is a lot of younger voters might not be familiar with Clinton and her record.
Her next question was a foreign policy question that asked where she stood on a scale from 1-10 on military intervention. She said that she thinks it is imperative to avoid military action, which should only be used as a last resort, not a first choice. Clinton repeated her promise of no American ground forces in Syria and Iraq. Speaking of Iraq, Clinton said that he has more of record of judgement than one vote on the war in Iraq. She repeated for roughly the billionth time that her vote for the Iraq war was a mistake.
Clinton brought up the great point that we had a terrorist threat long before President Obama came into office. (We had a terrorist threat on 9/11). Her mention of 9/11 was a suggestion that George W. Bush dropped the ball on keeping America safe.
In contrast to the hate on the Republican side, Clinton got a question for an American-Muslim veteran. She answered by unloading on Trump for insulting, demeaning, and denigrating people. Clinton strongly defended American-Muslims from Trumps shameful and dangerous approach. She said that we cant tolerate this, and we must stand up and say that every person in this country deserves to be treated with respect.
Clinton was asked what she will say to Republican voters after she is elected president. Hillary Clinton said that she wants to be the president for all Americans and that she will tell Republicans that we must come together to solve the nations problems......................

(68,867 posts)Why so negative?
Why don't you just counter by talking about how great your candidate did?
Hopefully, you are not part of Sanders' outreach....cause a slap is not what outreach means!

(68,867 posts)She would kick ass, take numbers, and tear them a new one!
She will make slice bread on a Presidential debate stage!
Even Moderates "R" (who don't hate her to the extent of putting there shit on the line with a Trump) and Independents (who feel the same way) would vote for her, even if they didn't tell a soul.
The ones that hate her to that extent, but also are scared of an "Unknown Quantity" Trump would either leave the top of the ballot blank, or keep their asses at home!

(45,251 posts)Sanders would have done better. Sanders has the cred because he has never been in bed with the Koch brothers, Wall Street, or other big donors as have Republicans. So, he has not had to evolve, be hypocritical, etc.

(421 posts)One is arguing for working within the system at the edges; the other for replacing it with something else.
The American people want something else, and they are going to be choosing between Trump or Sanders (the something else of either party).
We are living in very interesting times indeed.

(45,251 posts)Government of the people, by the people and for the people, as so wonderfully labeled by Abraham Lincoln, is not a new concept or a new system. It began in Ancient Athens, where all citizens who showed up voted on every government issue, such as war and other spending, taxes, etc. We adopted the Republican system of Ancient Rome--government through political representatives--but we combined that with the democratic values of Ancient Athens. Over the centuries, we have made eligibility for the vote far more democratic than did the Framers.
Bernie Sanders stands for simply getting us closer to the just and thirsted for goal of representative government of the people, by the people and for the people than this nation ever been, but he seeks to do that under and through our existing systems and institutions.
Democratic Socialists stand for working within capitalism, democracy and the Democratic Party, all three of which have morphed from their purer states and/or gotten lost in the shuffle, esp. during recent decades.
Making it sound as though Bernie is advocating something novel is likely to scare people. As a species, we do not contemplate the unknown with equanimity. To the contrary, our species, like most species, tends to seek homeostasis, even at the expense of very positive change.
Even the violent American Revolution did not replace "the system." It only replaced the hereditary part of the system with a President and Executive Branch, and then tried to persuade its first President to serve for life. Our Congress was a type of the British Parliament. At the time of adoption of the Constitution of the United, only about six percent of the population of the new U.S.A. was eligible to vote. And the thirteen colonies literally imported intact the system of law of England as it had existed under Queen Elizabeth I, including the system itself, the statutes and judicially made law (aka common law).

(30,481 posts)Outcome is pretty clear. Many Sanders supporters are deservedly praising O'Malley while at the same time saying it was all rigged. Couldn't be more clear who had the best appearances. O'Malley and Clinton all the way.
