He just now finished up. I heard "Power to the People" by John Lennon. That sure brings back memories for us boomers. :

My name is Alvaro and I live in Colombia. I've been reading about Bernie Sanders since 2013 and I've been following the campaign since June. I found this forum while reading the Sanders for President subreddit.

Here in Colombia when there are elections we try to assure the turnout. During campaign season each volunteer calls at least 50 people they know in the locality to get at least 10 acquaintances, friends and relatives who are voting for the candidate. Then the volunteer visits personally each of the 10 who are voting. The objective of the visit is to get at least 500 additional phone numbers from the 10 voters to get 100 more voters. On election day the volunteer arranges transportation for the 110 committed voters.

Is the Sanders campaign doing something similar in Iowa?

Is the campaign trying to assure known Sanders voters are going to caucus?

There are millions of dollars being spent by the Sanders campaign (among others) to get people out to vote/caucus in Iowa.

Tens of thousands of phone calls being made. TV ads, flyers sent through the mail and people out knocking on doors are just a few of the methods being used to try to get people out to caucus.

The Sanders campaign has even rented every van it possibly could in order to help people to actually get to the polls. One of the challenges he faces in Iowa is that his strong popularity with college students is concentrated within the areas of big colleges. He is going to try and transport some of them to their homes in order to caucus, so that he can win delegates in more areas than just where the colleges are.

Iowa is very intense right now and everyone is doing everything they can think of to get people to the polls.

Thanks for posting. Hope to hear more from you.

I'm actually more informed about the campaign than 99% of Americans. Unfortunately I can't donate and the embassy has denied me twice the tourism visa.

I know the campaign has spent a lot of money, but I have not read ANYWHERE if the strategy I detailed has been used. I know volunteers are phonebanking, but it's not the same when an unknown person calls, it seems like a telemarketing call. Every volunteer in Iowa has a network of relatives, friends and acquaintances of at least 100 people. That's the low hanging fruit. Instead of calling thousands of unknown people who won't be that receptive to your calls, why not call first the 100 you know?

That's my point.
