Hillary Raised Big Funds Last Night From Franklin Sq. Capitol Which Has Huge Investment in FRACKING

So, right before the Iowa caucuses, Hillary traveled to PA to do a major fundraiser at an investment firm heavily invested in fossil fuel companies, including offshore oil drilling and fracking.

> Author, Scholar, Environmentalist, 350.org Co-Founder *BILL MCKIBBEN Tweeted yesterday, Jan. 27:
"Wish Dem candidates would not do fundraisers at Franklin Square Capital, which has a huge #fracking business" https://theintercept.com/2016/01/26/hillary-clinton-doing-back-to-back-finance-industry-fundraisers-just-before-iowa/

The organizers of the fundraiser are hoping for less government regulations in future.

One of Franklin Square Capital’s investment funds, the FS Energy & Power Fund, is heavily invested in fossil fuel companies, including offshore oil drilling and fracking. A disclosure posted by the company cautions that “changes to laws and increased regulation or restrictions on the use of hydraulic fracturing may adversely impact” the fund’s performance. As secretary of state, Clinton worked to spread fracking around the world.

Either she’s clueless or she thinks we are.

60. That's boldness, attending a gala fundraiser at an investor institution worth $17 billion

with Bon Jovi and more planned events the rest of the week, just before Monday's Iowa caucus. Or it seems to be business as usual. Fracking is a vile aggressive extraction method that destroys communities and roads, and pollutes the land, soil, water, wildlife and humans from chemical toxins.
----
As Common Dreams reported earlier this week, Clinton was scheduled to appear at back-to-back finance industry fundraisers this week, just days before the February 1 caucus—seemingly unfazed by charges that her cozy ties to Wall Street will make it difficult for her to crack down on big bank malfeasance. The Intercept has since reported that the campaign has postponed a New York City fundraiser scheduled for Thursday until February 16.
>Recent polls have showed Sanders either leading or virtually tied with Clinton in Iowa, and continuing to close the gap nationally.
Bernie Sanders struck a blow against Hillary Clinton's campaign priorities on Wednesday night, noting that while she was attending a fundraising event hosted by a $17 billion investment fund, he was revving up an overflow crowd in Iowa, which holds it primary caucus in just four days.
"My opponent is not in Iowa tonight. She is raising money from a Philadelphia investment firm," Sanders told a crowd of about 1,000 people at the Music Man Square in Mason City, Iowa. "Frankly, I would rather be here with you."
"We do not represent Wall Street, we don’t represent corporate America, we don't want their money," Sanders said following an introduction by actress Susan Sarandon.

Against: Republicans, Iran, guns, marriage equality, fifteen dollars . . .

No, wait, marriage equality is off the list, sorry.

Correction: Keystone and TPP are on the list.

Oh, health care is also on the list.

No, um: healthcare is not on, but taxes to pay for health care is on the list.

Hold on.

OK, some items not actually on the list may "need to be looked at."
Good, that clears that up.

Peace . . . . Forget it; let's just wait until the election's over to find out.

how this fundraiser money for Hillary helps it's donors
https://theintercept.com/2015/10/21/clinton-takes-her-advisers-side-attacking-big-banks-but-not-blackrock/

A little more here:
http://usuncut.com/politics/wall-street-hosting-fundraisers-for-clinton-before-iowa/

As her Clinton Foundation bio notes, Cheryl Mills also worked as an associate at Hogan Lovells (now Hogan Hartson), the same law firm where current Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts worked. And as Jilani pointed out, BlackRock raising money for Clinton is a good business strategy for them, as a Clinton presidency would mean that BlackRock’s business model of long-term investments over short-term trading will be rewarded with additional handouts from the federal government.

reading will change their minds and vote Bernie vs Hillary?

BTW what Hillary is doing here is very problematic. If Bill McKibben says so that is all I need to know, trust him completely.

But let's you and me drill down on what these threads accomplish.

If someone switches from Hill to Bern, then mission accomplished. We know Trump voters arent switching, etc.

But what if nobody is switching their votes at this point and all these threads do is dissuade people from voting IF Hillary is the nominee or PERIOD as Thom Hartmann points out with studies as to how negative campaigning reduces the number of people who vote.

Your thoughts?

If this was called "anything goes, hate any candidate you want here"

The reason this board is different is it is dedicated to keeping the PRICKS out of power, at least the philosophy of the board is.

That's the way DU is set up.

Okay it won't be sweetness and creme, but the arguments over the nominee (Clinton, Sanders or OM) will be toned down considerably, if not removed.

Then after the election, people will argue about the president and other elected officials. And the ctycle will continue.

You know that the admins make money when people post here. No one is going to switch their vote but we will sure as hell discuss what she does. By the way a point here, there have been a lot of nasty OPs posted about Bernie and it's just adorable how you jump right in to defend Hillary and ignore the nasty vile anti Bernie stuff your fellow Hillary supporters post.

Thu Jan 28, 2016, 07:15 PM

and, regarding Keystone XL: Hillary's State Dept was essentially approving it *before* any environmental reviews.

....The documents do show, however, that TransCanada had special access to key State Department officials during this delicate period, when the future of the company's most important project hung in the balance. In 2009 TransCanada had begun ordering the large-diameter pipe it would need for the project. Evraz, the Russian company that got some of the business, announced that steel and pipe production for TransCanada’s order would begin in 2010.

TransCanada's most important link to the State Department was its Washington, D.C.-based lobbyist, Paul Elliott, who had been a senior member of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign. A month earlier, Elliott had secured an exclusive meeting for TransCanada's CEO with a key State Department official, who coached him on what the company should insert into the public record.

Now Elliott went to work again, relaying TransCanada's concern about the possible two-year delay to the office of the Secretary of State. His contact there was Nora Toiv, a special assistant who knew him from having also worked on the Clinton campaign. Toiv forwarded his note up the chain, and within two days it was slated for discussion with Secretary Clinton's Chief of Staff, Cheryl D. Mills. Like Elliott and Toiv, Mills had worked on Clinton's presidential campaign.
